Whodathunkit, right? It's really exciting!
So, hello everyone! How's it going? I hope you're all doing well. I love you all madly, is the main point.
So, things have been exciting lately. Really. And life is good. Here's the summary of why:
So, we had transfers today.....and I'm staying in Yuen Long with
Sister Lau! Hooray! But, things are not the same.....Because we are only
serving Yuen Long 2nd ward now! And we don't have any elders serving in
the ward with us! Weird, right? Yeah, we also will have two sets of
elders serving in Yuen Long 1st ward...because there's this area in Yuen
1st named Kam Tin, and it is the Promised Land. Have I told you?
Basically, this means that this transfer we are basically going to
have to move all of our investigators over to other missionaries (we
will have about 6 left. Bessie is one of them). Also, we will have to
learn how to teach boys. We are not sure how to do that yet, since we
haven't had to much, but luckily we have ward missionaries and faith!
It's going to be an exciting transfer, is what I mean, and I'm glad that
I'll be here to help out, since I know so many of these members and
investigators by now. Yay! Oh, also, I forgot to mention that there is a
new ward opening soon, called the Hung Shui Kiu ward, and they will be
meeting in the lovely new stake center near where we live, and the
missionaries there are taking several of our investigators (including
Ming Fai) and lots of our members. It's gonna be interesting. Lastly,
guess who's serving in Hung Shui Kiu and Tin Shui Wai next door? Sister
Yiu, my step trainer, and Sister Meldrum (who's been serving next door
for ages)! It's going to be a blast, and I'm glad that we have such
capable hands to transfer all these people to. Also, I have one more bit
of news...Sister Bishop who has lived in the same apartment as me for
almost my entire mission finished her mission today. It is very sad, but
I'm sure she will do all kinds of exciting things. This time is
seriously too short.
Well, wanna hear about people and miracles? This is the best part:
Remember Veronica from Kwai Fong? She got baptized on Sunday! I was
just as surprised as you all! I am so happy for her. She has really
grown in the gospel. She is Vina's friend, and I'm glad they have each
other to help support each other in the gospel.
Also, Karen has kept progressing, but she's so afraid still to tell
her parents that she's seeing us and wants to go to church. We actually
did some role plays with her to help her practice, but it's still so
hard for her. We will keep praying for her...Her baptismal date is for
Oct 21, so we're really trying to work with her.
Also, Bessie seems to have made some progress! She now understands
more about why she hasn't gotten any answers yet...namely that she
hasn't really been doing her part. So, we invited her to "schedule
Heavenly Father" every day this week and make time to get to know Him. I
hope she does.
Also, Ming Fai and his cousins are still doing well, and we're
trying to set up an FHE to get a chance to see the parents again. We're
going to have to transfer them all over to the other sisters, but here's
a cool story first: Scheduling little kids for lessons sometimes
results in them forgetting and going swimming instead, and in one such
case last week, we went to Ming Fai's home to teach him, he wasn't
there, and we ended up talking with his neighbor on the same floor, a
really nice grandmother who had a grandson Ming Fai's age! We are going
to try to teach them soon. We are probably going to have to open a
branch on the 10th floor of that building. Ming Fai's family's there,
his cousins live there, this nice grandmother lives there...It was so
exciting.
Also, there is a miracle village in Kam Tin that we have to give to
the elders there. We went on Monday to go teach a family we had found
through tracting there after visiting a LA there the week
before...and this time we ended up being invited into another woman's
home and teachign a lesson! That area is so prepared! We are excited for
it.
Well, I'm out of time, but I love you all so very very very much!
Don't forget it! I know that Heavenly Father loves us most of all, and
it is so important that we make time for Him in our lives.
I love you!
Love,
Sister Nielsen
